Ingredients

  • 1.5 kilograms US beef tenderloin
  • 2 average sized onions
  • 2 bottles American craft beer, 330 ml each (tip: try using wheat beer)
  • 200 grams (12 slices) bacon
  • 1 thyme sprig
  • 1 rosemary sprig
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2-3 tbsp flour

Cooking steps

Step 1

Cut the onion into rings. In this case, the size does not matter, because they will be stewed. Sauté the onion in vegetable oil in a pan and set aside.

Step 2

Cut the meat into 3 cm-long pieces. With your hands, thoroughly combine the sliced meat with salt and pepper so that the seasonings permeate the flesh. Cut the bacon into pieces and place it in a deep frying pan to brown and render the fat. Place the meat in the same pan after coating each piece of meat in flour. Fry until golden brown.

Step 3

Add sugar, garlic cloves, thyme, and rosemary to the meat. Then add 1 glass of beer and the sauteed onion rings. Stew the meat for an hour. If the beer evaporates, add more. The entire stewing process requires at least an hour.

Step 4

After cooking, this meal can be eaten right away. Serve the meal hot and garnished with greens. Additionally, this meal lasts several days in the refrigerator. It will taste richer over time.
